Siege of Boston-Colonial Victory
In the months following the battle of Bunker Hill. Washington sent Col. Henry Knox to Fort Ticonderoga which had been captured by Benedict Arnold and Ethan Allen. He was to bring back the heavy guns that defended the fort. They moved around 56 guns to Boston where they dug them in on Dorchester Heights. The heights overlooked Boston as well as Boston Harbor. British General Howe was forced to retreat from Boston. The British never regained the city and their defeat only increased the revolutionaries moral.
